We’re excited to announce that Continuum v1.3.2 is now available for download and installation!
This release includes several new features and improvements. Here's what's new:
🌐 Turbine Time Series Module — Revamped
The Turbine Time Series module has been overhauled. Users can now examine simulated wind speed and energy production time series data on an hourly, monthly, or yearly basis. Users may also now analyze monthly trends in estimated production and view deviations from long-term energy estimates more intuitively and in greater detail.
🗺️ Land Cover Enhancements
The software now recognizes and ignores 'Missing' land cover values when calculating surface roughness and displacement height from land cover data. We've also added a built-in land cover key for the South African National Land Cover (SANLC) dataset to support more streamlined modeling for South African wind projects.
🏗️ Site Suitability — Shadow Flicker Distance Control
In the Site Suitability tab, you can now specify a maximum distance for shadow flicker modeling. The default value is 2,000 meters, but this can be customized to match your project’s parameters.
🌤️ Data Downloads — Improved Handling
We've resolved issues with the ERA5 monthly download tool to improve reliability. The MERRA2 download process has been revised to separate standard data from MERRA2 Cloud-based datasets, giving users more control over their data sources.
